Jamie has been one of 24 children working on the 'Adopt an Author' programme at school with the Author Michael Cox. The theme has been Pirates and culminated with a 'showcase' of work at school with Michael.
Michael then invited all the children to the National Maritime Museum to see their work displayed at the launch of his new book.
So the day after Anne & Sie's wedding we were at school for 8.15am to get on a coach to Greenwich. Jamie's work was displayed under the big propellor. He was chosen to read his work at the Launch and did an amazing job, reading loud and clear. We were very proud of him.
We spent the rest of the day visiting the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, crossing from East to West and learning about Time. We had booked to visit the new Planetarium and were queuing up with tickets in hand when they cancelled the show due to technical difficulties. We were very disappointed especially as Andy had run up to the Observatory in the pouring rain first thing to guarantee tickets!
